Recovery
Recovery, week by week
A general guide — Dr. Sheikh tailors your timeline at your consultation and follow-up visits.
Days 1–3
Swelling and bruising peak around 48 hours. Cold compresses and head elevation help. Vision is typically normal; the lids may feel tight.
Days 4–7
Bruising starts to fade and most swelling settles. Many patients feel comfortable on video calls. Sutures are usually removed within the first week.
Week 2
Most patients are presentable in public and back to desk work. Contact lenses and eye makeup usually resume around this point.
Weeks 3–4
Exercise and heavier activity typically resume. Residual mild swelling is visible mainly to you.
Months 2–3
Final eyelid height and crease position settle. The incision fades to a fine line hidden in the natural crease.
