Brow Lift & Lid Lift in Morristown, NJ

When the brows descend, the upper eyelids crowd and the whole eye region looks heavy. A brow lift raises and stabilizes the brow so the eyelid has room again, and softens the deep forehead lines that come from lifting the brows all day. A lid lift, done on its own or with the brow, addresses the eyelid itself. Choosing correctly between the two matters, which is why the exam comes before the plan.

Who it helps

  • Brows that have dropped and made the upper lids feel crowded
  • A tired or stern expression at rest
  • Deep horizontal forehead lines from habitually raising the brows
  • Uneven brow height, including after facial nerve weakness
  • Patients unsure whether their heaviness comes from the brow, the eyelid, or both

What to expect

  • A measured assessment of brow height, eyelid skin, and lid function to determine whether a brow lift, a lid lift, or both will give the result you want
  • A technique matched to your anatomy — endoscopic, temporal, hairline, or direct — with incisions placed to stay discreet
  • Outpatient surgery with local anesthesia and sedation in most cases
  • Swelling and tightness across the forehead for the first one to two weeks, easing as healing progresses

Common questions

Do I need a brow lift or eyelid surgery?
Both can relieve a heavy upper eye, but they treat different causes. If the brow has descended, removing eyelid skin alone can pull the brow down further and worsen the heaviness. The exam measures brow position directly so the right procedure is chosen.
Where are the scars?
It depends on the technique. Endoscopic and hairline approaches hide incisions in or behind the hairline; a direct lift places a fine incision at the brow, chosen when it gives the most reliable lift. Dr. Sheikh reviews the tradeoffs with you.
